Paisley is changing and Paisley Community Trust (PCT) puts the community at the HEART of regeneration in the town.

We need you to help!

As the Baker Street team are set ready to deliver the project business case, we are now excited to be recruiting Trustees to join the Board of Paisley Community Trust.

Initially focused on delivering a Performing Arts and Film Theatre as part of Paisley’s Heritage Asset Strategy, the award-winning Baker Street Paisley project was created.

Our community focused project has the potential to be a catalyst for the regeneration of Paisley Town Centre, improve social cohesion, create a sense of place for all to enjoy and act as a launch pad for new stage and screen talent.

Building on the positive impact of Baker Street Paisley; Paisley Community Trust is realigning its strategy to focus on Community driven economic regeneration of the Town. Working in partnership with many communities of Paisley, PCT aims to gather views, issues and ideas for the future of the town and work in collaboration with the Local Authority and other key stakeholders in Paisley.

About the role…

When acting as a PCT trustee you will be doing so on a voluntary basis – unpaid and because you have a passion and interest in the regeneration and cultural renaissance of Paisley.

You will have relevant skills and experience, of course that’s important, although you’ll fit the bill perfectly if you have an abundance of energy an “I’ll do that” and a “positively provocative” attitude.

The board will meet formally every 4-6 weeks at a time to be arranged. Sub-group meetings and work between meetings will be likely. You may be asked to take responsibility for delivery of certain specific aspects of PCT business and projects – working closely as part of a hands-on operational board and supporting team – responsible and reporting to the PCT board of trustees.

Being aware of all of that from the outset, we are pleased to invite applications to join us.

Specific roles we have in mind to complement our existing board are:

  • Legal – acting as secretary, specifically responsible for constitutional matters
  • Financial – accounts, VAT and grant applications
  • Build – Project management, design, regeneration
  • Community – community groups, third sector organisations, town partners, public, business
  • Youth – Representative of youth organisations, leaders
  • Creative – Cinema, theatre, event creation, programming and management
  • IT/ Admin – Online activity, web, social media, marketing and PR,

These board vacancies are key to the future development and ambitions of Paisley Community Trust and will help deliver on the award-winning Baker Street and many other exciting projects.

Applications should take the form of an up to date CV / personal profile, and a covering statement setting out relevant skills and experiences, and why you are keen to be considered for the role as Trustee of Paisley Community Trust.

Dates: Final applications to be submitted by 30th Nov 18. Thereafter we would hope to meet with a shortlist of candidates before making final appointments by 21st December 18.
